What is Bixbee?

Bixbee is our brand name as well as the name of our mascot, Bixbee the honey bee. Bixbee is in charge of delivering the schoolbags with supplies to kids in need through our “One Here. One There.” mission all over the world.

Bixbee is B-Corp certified - What is a Benefit Corporation (B-Corp)?

Certified B Corporations are a new type of corporation that use the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. B Lab, a nonprofit organization, certifies B Corporations, the same way TransFair certifies Fair Trade coffee or USGBC certifies LEED buildings.

Is Schoolbags for Kids dba Bixbee a non-profit organization?

Schoolbags for Kids is a for-profit company built upon a powerful social mission. Our “One Here. One There.” social mission allows us to collaborate with local and far-reaching nonprofits that provide children in need access to education. As a certified B-Corp, we are using the power of business to solve social and environmental problems.

How do you choose where to donate schoolbags and supplies?

Our foremost goal is to deliver products directly into the hands of those who need them most, the kids. Bixbee works with select non-profit organizations to support areas with high levels of need. It is important to us that the whole community benefits from our program, so we select organizations that can source and/or produce the schoolbags with supplies locally. We therefore partner directly with organizations supporting schools and orphanages to ensure that product is received and delivered to the children they teach.

How often do you donate schoolbags and supplies to kids in need?

Our donations vary throughout the year. Please follow us on Facebook , Instagram or Twitter for the latest announcements.

Inflatable Playspaces

Can the inflatable be used as a pool toy?

No, due to the attached motor the inflable mattress & playplace cannot be used near water. This inflatable is not a floatation device and is not intended to be used near water.

How many watts is the motor?

120 volt AC

Can the inflatable be used outside?

No, for indoor use only.

My pump shut off after a couple minutes, what do I do?

If the pump gets too hot it will automatically shut off. To reset the pump follow the steps below:

  1. Turn the pump to the off position.
  2. Unplug the pump from the AC outlet.
  3. Wait a couple minutes for it to cool down. The pump will function properly once normal temperatures are reached.

How much floor space does the pirate ship take up?

The pirate ship is 77 inches long by 51 inches wide. The approximatly 27 square feet.

How much floor space does the castle take up?

The castle is 66 inches long by 49 inches wide. The approximatly 22 square feet.

What is the maxium weight allowed for the inflatable?

Maximum recommended weight is 60 lbs. (27 kg.) per user, and the recommended total weight of children should not exceed 120 lbs. (54 kg.)

How many kids can play in the inflatable at once?

We recommend no more than 2 kids should play in the inflatable at one time.

What if the pirate sword, ships wheel, or wands get a puncture hole?

In your inflatable playspace box you recieved two clear puncture patches. Follow the steps below to repair a puncture on the inflatable accessories, or to the inflatable matress.

In the event the product is accidentally punctured, an adult must perform the following steps:

  1. Deflate the item, clean the punctured area with water and allow to dry.
  2. Cut to required size depending upon hole or puncture.
  3. Remove vinyl patch from paper backing.
  4. Press patch firmly over hole or puncture.
  5. Do not inflate for 20 minutes.

What cleaning materials should I use to clean my inflatable?

We recommend using a mild detergent and water. A more abrasive soap could risk damage to the inflatable mattress & playplace. Do not use aerosol products to clean inflatable.

Will the pump automatically shut off when the inflatable is fully inflated?

No, you will have to manually turn the pump off. Do not over inflate the mattress.

Can you remove the pump from the mattress base?

No, the pump is built into the base of the inflatabale mattress.

Is this a bounce house?

No, this is an inflatable mattress & playplace is not a bounce house. We do not recommend jumping on the inflatable matress base.

Why is there a strong plastic smell?

Much like an inflatable pool float our product is made of vinyl and the “plastic” smell will begin dissipate once out of the box. If you wish you may unfold the product and air out outdoors for a few hours or until the smell is gone.

Backpacks and Lunchboxes

Can you help me select the right size for my kid?

Where are your products made?

Our backpacks are designed in Chicago, Illinois. Currently our products are manufactured in China by independently audited ISO 9001-approved factories. Our sourcing partners conduct a formal assessment on each of our partner factories, to ensure that they comply with local laws and regulations, and that the working conditions are safe, fair and non-discriminatory. Orders are shipped to the customer from our Chicago, IL warehouse.

Are your products tested?

All products are tested PVC free, phthalate free and lead free according to CPSIA requirements. (Consumer Product Safety and Information Act)

Are bags treated with any chemicals to make it water repellent?

No, Bixbee backpacks are water resistant, not repellent. We do not treat the material with any chemicals to make it water resistant.

How do your lunchboxes attach to the backpacks? 

Our Animal Collection lunchboxes have a clip at the top to attach to the backpack’s padded handle.

Our size medium and large  Sparkalicious, Pattern, and Flyer (medium) Collection lunchboxes can be attached by looping the lunchbox handle (no clip on handle) to the clip on the front pocket of the backpack.

Our Bixbee Imagination 2 PC Sets  have two velcro straps on the back of the lunchbox that loop through the top of the backpack.

Do you offer personalization for the backpacks?

Yes! We offer embroidery on most Bixbee products for an additional charge. Click the ‘Personalize It’ button to add personalization to your item before adding it to your checkout chart. There is a 9 character limit, and we can only embroider letters and numbers (no special characters). Letters are 1 3/4 - 2 inches high. Orders with Personalization take 5 to 7 business days to ship.

Embroidered products are non-refundable - All sales are final

How do I clean my Bixbee product?

Apply a small amount of cleanser to a clean, soft, damp cloth and gently wipe. Allow product to air dry.

My kid’s school requires them to use mesh or clear backpacks. Does Bixbee offer these?

We are aware of school standards changing across the nation and are currently in the design phases of creating a clear Bixbee backpack (horizontal design of course) to launch in 2021. Stay tuned on our Facebook and Instagram pages for updates. 

Why do some sparkles fall off?

Our glitter is applied with a non toxic glue so while our bags are flake resistant, they are not flake proof. Some sparkles are expected to come off especially in the initial days of use.  Unlike some other glitter products, our bags achieve a high sparkle effect without being coated with another material.

Yes, we ship to most countries. Simply select your country at check out for a shipping estimate.

Note: Orders shipped outside of the United States may incur additional fees for associated customs/duties. These additional charges are determined by the shipping company, not by Schoolbags for Kids, and are payable by the customer.

How long does it take an order to ship?

All orders are processed between 9am and 3pm CST. Weekends and holidays are excluded. Orders ship within 24 to 48 hours except for personalized orders which can take an additional 8 to 10 business days to ship.

What is the warranty on your products?

Bixbee® products are fully warranted to the original owner against defects in  construction and material for a year from date of purchase. If a product ever fails due to a manufacturing defect, even after extended use, we will repair the product, without charge, or replace it, at our discretion. In some cases, we may offer you Bixbee store credit in exchange.

This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of colors and materials over extended time and use.

To submit a claim, please send us an email at customersupport@bixbee.com. You will receive an email confirming whether or not your item is covered. Please include your name, address, email, and phone number (including area code) with the item, along with a description of the problem and photos of the item.

Are there any exclusions to your warranty?

Bixbee warranties only apply to products purchased from authorized dealers.

This warranty does not cover products purchased on Bixbee® Clearance. Clearance items may be discontinued, and/or slightly blemished and offered at significant discounts therefore are not eligible for warranty coverage.

This warranty does not cover Bixbee® accessories or apparel.

Who are not authorized dealers?

Third party sellers on Amazon or other sites are not authorized dealers. We only recognize specific retailers and online sellers. Please contact customersupport@bixbee.com  for more information.

I bought my product by Bixbee on Clearance. Is it covered by warranty?

Bixbee clearance items may be discontinued, and or slightly blemished and offered at significant discounts. As stated in our Bixbee warranty, it does not cover merchandise purchased on Clearance.

Is normal wear and tear covered by warranty?

We manufacture all of our products to meet our superior standards. However, regardless of how carefully you use, or how well you care for your Bixbee product, it will eventually begin to show age and wear. Bixbee warranties cover defects in construction and material for a year from date of purchase.  It does not cover normal wear and tear.
